Bernie Pearl, acclaimed Blues guitarist and storyteller, who learned from blues masters including Sam 'Lightnin' Hopkins, Mance Lipscomb, Mississippi Fred MacDowell and more will perform songs from his vast Blues repertoire on his vintage acoustic instruments and read excerpts from his new book "...Sitting on the Right Side of the Blues: A Life In The Blues" which recounts rarely-heard stories about the Blues legends who shaped the genre.
This intimate, engaging event will not only celebrate the music itself, but also the rich cultural heritage behind it. Blues music is inherently diverse, originating in African American culture and evolving into many subgenres while influencing countless other musical styles, including rock, jazz, and soul.
Perfect for lifelong music lovers, history buffs, and anyone curious about the roots of modern sound.

Designed by architect Thomas J. Russell, the Miraleste Library and its wall of windows takes full advantage of its prime location with spectacular views of the community and Long Beach Harbor. Originally a "station" library at Miraleste Elementary School in the early 1950s, it has served as a vital community hub with a wide range of resources and programs at this location since 1970. In 1995, a new entrance was created off the parking lot to comply with ADA requirements. In 2001, the children’s area was remodeled and expanded.
